As moms, we care deeply about protecting the health of our children and grandchildren. We work to ensure elected leaders put the health of our children and communities first by proposing strong climate and clean air solutions that deliver protections to all of us, especially our frontline families who are disproportionately burdened by pollution and climate-fueled disasters.

CLIMATE CRISIS

We are facing a global climate crisis. We have an urgent responsibility to act now and our elected officials and candidates running for office have a responsibility to lead. We need a Congress and a president who will make it a priority to move our nation’s economy to 100% clean energy by 2050. The work to move to a 100% clean economy must begin today.

Clean Air Moms Action advocates for policies that eliminate climate pollution, and that provide an equitable economic transition for families and communities as our country shifts to clean energy.

CLEAN AIR

Breathing healthy air is essential to life. For the sake of our children’s health we must ensure that our energy future is renewable, clean, and safe. Air pollution from burning fossil fuels leads to bad air quality in many communities, resulting in unhealthy levels of smog which can trigger asthma attacks and exacerbate other chronic health problems.

We are fighting to save long-standing public health protections that the current administration aims to weaken. Mercury pollution standards are under attack despite evidence that the standards are working: They have helped to dramatically lower mercury emissions from coal-fired power plants—which were the largest source of mercury pollution in the US. The administration also continues toroll back standards that require car manufacturers to make fuel efficient vehicles—despite their popularity and effectiveness in reducing pollution. Lastly, efforts to reduce or eliminate toxic chemicals in products continue to be under attack, putting our children directly at risk for toxic exposure.
